[IERW Post #2] Significance of Netherland

Have you ever cried your eyes out? We have all went through the phase of growing up, and its hard to deny that that secific time period was hard on us. She was just a girl struggling to get through it like how we did.

Anne Frank lived in the period of violent chaos. Nazis left a horrible scar known as the "hollocost". To avoid the persecution, the family moved to Amsterdam. However, the Germans invaded the Netherlands, resulting them into hiding.

The hiding place is a small secret annex above Otto Frank's office. There lived two families- the Franks and the Van Daans. Anne disbosomes herself to her dear friend "Kitty". Many stories she talkes about occurs in the attic. The story that we are most likely able to relate to is her feelings towards Peter. Some people might say that their mutual feelings were a teenage love affair. This is what breakes my heart the most: They were two teenagers with delicate feelings.

Anne's chit chat ends at some point of her fifteenth birth year. Records say that she and her family was taken to Auschwitz. She died form typhoid at age sixteen. I guess sweet sixteen doesnt visit everyone.

Netherland in the 1930-40s wasnt easy for anyone. It has a historical significance- a reminde that such tradgidy should never occur again. Anne Frank lets us into her time and touches the deepest part of our souls. It is inevitable to feel for her, isnt it?

[IERW Post#1] I Greet the New

Korea is well known for its beauty and culture- most celebratorial places are the Jeju Island, Seoul, Goujae, etc.. Because Geotourism focuses on a tourism that can last, I thought its about time we focus on something new. If we want a tourism to last, it should improve in every possible way; however, well known tourisms are already saturated with familiar ideas and I cant really think of a way to improve them any further. I suggest Kangwondo as a new tourism spot. It may sound strange but it will be a hot spot once its opened to foreigners.

Kangwondo is located some distance away from the urban area. Why do people go on vacations? They want to rest! Quality rest is gaurenteed when the nature is beautiful. Air in Kangwondo is much more clear and damp due to its location. Its mouintain views are incredible and one will get the satisfaction of having climed it even a little bit. Kangwondo will satisfy the sole purpose of vacation- quality rest.

Koreans can say this for sure- Kangwondo’s potatoes are amazing! More than half the potatoes consumed in Korea is from Kangwondo. What does everyone on Earth love? Carbohydrates and fatty oil! So why not combine them together and whip up something fantastic? Yes, potato pancakes! This will not only activate the local farms but also make the Korean traditional alchol ‘Makgulli’ even more famous.

Families with kids are always focusing on a way to nurture their children’s sentiments. They want their kids to become a loving and caring person. Studies have shown that kids that have encountered more often with animals are likely to grow up into someone with more stablized personality. Kangwondo is known for cows. Cows are special icons of Kangwondo. Many calf are born here daily. If Kangwondo comes up with a program for children and cows such as feeding hay or so, the interaction process could benefit both of them.

Geotourism is a new trend in the area. People are looking for sustainable business which benefits both the visitors and the local. Since its a new starting tourism spot, the tourism will stay fresh and new for a long time and will remain a more sustainable business than the existing tourism. It will definiately be a memorable vacation for both parties!
